Day 2: Patience for the Future

We are hyperconnected, but lonely.

We are rich with opportunity, but lack purpose.

We are stressed and anxious.

All of the difficulties we face in the world today make it hard to be patient for the future…but good things come with time

Learning patience is key to deepening our relationship with God.

Key Takeaways:

Many of us struggle with patience. Between relationships, school, and our jobs, we have to make our time count.

One good idea is to try and live in the present moment. This is easier said than done, but there is nothing we can do about the past…and not much we can do for the future. We can’t control the future. We only have the present moment to love God on Earth.

God gives us graces today to take on today. He doesn’t give us the graces today so that we can handle tomorrow. Tomorrow he will give us the graces we need to take on that day.

We can try to plan and arrange the future as best we can, but we can’t control it. All we can do is trust that God is caring for us and our future.

Exercise: Say “I will trust the Lord. He died for me, He loves me, He will take care of my future and all my details.” Now… say it again. Repeat this phrase until you feel a peace come over you, and a certainty that God is watching over you and your future.
